Facebook Joins Industry in Petitioning Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court

Over the last several months, in the midst of press reports speculating about the nature and scope of government programs aimed at keeping people safe, we’ve repeatedly called for governments around the world to provide more details about the programs they operate. We’ve also urged them to allow companies to divulge information about the government orders and requests they receive, in a manner and to a degree that does not compromise legitimate safety concerns.

In August 2013, Facebook and a coalition of other leading technology companies announced the launch of Internet.org, a global effort to make affordable Internet access available to the next 5 billion people.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (AP) -- The changes to Apple's iOS software became apparent as I drove to the headquarters of the company's rival, Google. As I navigated using Apple's mapping app, I noticed one of my favorite attributes was missing: the directions for each next turn presented in green boxes that resemble highway signs. 

Apple, Google, and Microsoft Need to Hear This

The ascent of the tablet only continues. According to research firm IDC, Q4 of this year will mark the first time tablets outsell PCs. For the whole year, PCs will still rule, according to IDC, but by 2015 tablets will begin outselling PCs, and that's not likely to change in 2016 and beyond. Assuming the tablet trend pans out as IDC believes it will, there are two questions device manufacturers need to answer: How are tablet and smartphone owners using all those mobile devices, and do they have a product that fits their needs?
